My Own Little Book Corner

December was a good month for my reading.   I read 11 books.   I went back to other decades, met some interesting people, helped solve murders, visited some different countries, went through a massive storm and confronted prejudices.   I only had one disappointing read which may have been more due to my expectations than the actual book.   All of these books were rated 3.34 or higher on Goodreads, so as I've said before - just because I didn't like it, it doesn't mean you won't.   And of course the opposite is true too.   My favorites may be your stinkers. The books in the top picture are books I own and the other are library books.   I am using the library more which is making it difficult to read my shelves.   I am trying to balance between the two.   It's just so tempting to get a book from the library when I see a recommendation.  Am I the only one with the - "Oh look - another book" probl...

  Here's my 12 book challenge (actually 13 books) given to me by my friends.   I had forgotten about books sent to me through messenger so I ended up with the extra one.  I paired 2 books that I thought might be lighter reads to do together.   I listed all the books in order that they were given to me.  I then used a random number generator to set which month to read each book.   Some of my friends gave me more than one title.   In those cases I used the random number generator to determine which one to read. I've asked for recommendations in the past, but this is the first time I've done it as a planned list.   Since this is the first time, I reserve the right to change things up.   For example, if I can't get my hands on a copy of a book, I may switch months until I can.    You are welcome to join me in this challenge.   If you do, let me know.   I always enjoy talking about a book...
